“Krasny Kotelshchik” Invests in Production Site Development
The Taganrog Boiler-Making Works “Krasny Kotelshchik” (TKZ) is modernizing production facilities, introducing digital technologies, increasing industrial safety and improving working conditions. These are key areas for the implementation of the company’s investment program in 2025.
In the first 10 months of 2025, the plant implemented about 90 investment measures. The key one is the purchase of new equipment for production workshops, from machines to special tackles.
For example, an assembly and welding bench has been installed in the heat-exchange equipment shop specializing in the production of products for the nuclear industry. It has optimized work with heavy and bulky workpieces. Technological operations have become better and safer. Due to the rotation of the rollers at a given speed, high precision and uniformity of the welds are ensured. If necessary, the bench can be divided into two autonomous ones with separate remote control.
When welding critical welds in the manufacture of products for nuclear power plants, the division began to use sliding tunnels (tents). They provide protection of work areas and equipment from external factors, including air flows that can disrupt the supply of protective gas and, as a result, reduce the quality of welded joints. Tents are mobile, collapsible structures that are convenient for transportation and quick deployment at the work site.
“Upgrading of our plant is a structural transformation aimed at long-term development. Each new piece of equipment and each implemented solution is an important step towards reducing technological risks, improving product quality and competitiveness. In the context of growing demands from customers and energy projects, we consider technological flexibility as a key condition for maintaining TKZ's leadership position in the boiler industry segment,” said Alexey Izbovitelev, Head of TKZ Technological Development Center.
In addition to updating the production base, the company's investments are aimed at related infrastructure. Cargo vehicles have been purchased to provide internal logistics. Modern measuring instruments, software and computer equipment have been purchased. A set of additional measures has been implemented to improve the safety of employees and ensure their comfortable work, including the installation of adiabatic coolers that ensure optimal temperatures in production workshops during the hot season. For Taganrog, this solution is a technological innovation.
