“Krasny Kotelshchik” Improves In-house Logistics
"The Taganrog Boiler-Making Works “Krasny Kotelshchik”" (TKZ) commissioned a new 75 t frame crane. This facility is designed to be operated as a part of the northern cargo terminal built at TKZ within framework of modernization of inter-company logistics.
New lifting equipment was produced by one of the Russian companies specially for “Krasny Kotelshchik”. In terms of its characteristics it is designed for the large items being manufactured by TKZ for their clients: heaters, drums, etc. In particular, the crane span is 24 meter, its lifting height is 12 meter. Among the peculiarities of the lifting facility is an extended 10m long cantilever beam. Such design solution allows significantly increasing a work zone of the new equipment.
One more advantage of the commissioned crane is the use of the electric motor control system based on frequency converters. Due to such converters a smooth operation of the lifting facility is provided and owing to that a load swinging is limited to the minimum. This contributes to the improved safety of handling works, as well as to reduction of the crane operational wear.
Besides, the new lifting device is completely adapted to the conditions of its use. It can be operated outdoor enduring significant temperature fluctuations from plus 40 ºС to minus 30 ºС.
The crane is easy to operate and does not require a long-term training of TKZ dedicated workers. Lifting/moving of loads can be controlled both from the cabin where provision is made for heat and noise insulation, natural ventilation, air heater and condenser and remotely using a radio control box.
This is the second frame crane purchased by TKZ under improvement of the inter-company logistics. Joint operation of two lifting facilities mounted on one runway significantly increases the effectiveness of the company internal processes. It becomes possible to load large items weighing up to 150 tons to the railway transport promptly for further shipment to clients. The time needed for unloading of the materials received at TKZ can be also reduced significantly.
